Babaylans and the Pre Colonial LGBQAP+++ Community

According to Western perception, the BABAYLAN is a strong cisgender or transgender female.

Before the invasions by Spain, Japan, and the United States, there was no binary system or gendered language. In the pre-colonial Philippines, people were allowed to marry anyone with the approval of a babaylan, which meant that homosexuality was accepted. The myths and diets are queer as well. Babaylans continue to fight for LGBTQ equality and peace today.
