How to Become a Babaylan?

The Babaylan family is the ancestral lineage of the Babaylan family. Since they are a member of a babaylan's family, it can be INHERITED. One of the events known as SHAMANISM is when a family member becomes ill, experiences convulsions, is possessed by spirits, and so forth. Before becoming a complete babaylan, every other member will be invited to participate in a ceremony. After the patient recovers from their illness, they will be welcomed into the world of Shamanism. The discomfort will endure for a few days. The only person who is able to observe the location or be there is her. Another is termed INITIATION, which is something a mature babaylan will offer a member of their family. 

For instance, they can burn the victim alive while the elderly babaylan performs a ritualistic dance, song, chant, or other act.
